This whole try-on thing is pretty new to me and I’m starting off my Try-On Tuesdays with a pretty big important one! Mom approved swimsuits. It can be nerve-wracking wearing a swimsuit in front of people (or perhaps on the internet for all to see) when your body is different than it used to be. If you haven’t been able to tell from my Instagram, My hubby and I live on the water and have a boat. Needless to say since I’m a stay at home mom and my kids LOVE the water I’m in a swimsuit about 75% of my days in the summer. So last year I purchased quite a few new ones since my pre-baby swimsuits were either too skimpy to be bending over or squatting making sandcastles all day or just plain didn’t fit. Most of them are still available in stock this year so I’m doing a round-up and try on of all of my mom approved swimsuits perfect for swimming or playing without worrying about showing too much, plus they are super flattering for mom tummies.

This first suit is a peplum tankini with a high waist bottom in a floral and black and white stripe print. The bottoms are reversible so you can wear them with the floral pattern or stripes. The peplum top is super flattering. It lands in just the right place to conceal a tummy instead of accentuating it and the bottoms don’t have any thick elastic in the waistband so there is no pinching or bulging of the tummy area.
This next 2 piece is a high waist bikini with a cute flouncy top. The bottoms are the same as above, in that they are reversible and can be either the lemon print or black and white stripes. This top offers a lot of coverage while showing just a sliver of stomach.
Next up is this navy and white striped one shoulder one piece swimsuit. It has a cute little cut out at the hip and ties at the hip and shoulder.
This white and lily print one piece swimsuit with cut outs was the one that caught my eye the most! I love the sporty zipper on the back and this shape is another flattering style. My only issue with this one was the cups are visible on the white upper so I had to remove them. This exact suit is no longer in stock, but they do have other suits with similar cut outs or in the same pattern but without the white upper (so no cup issues).
Next up is my favorite one-piece suit. I wore this suit most of last summer. I think the 2 prints are so flattering and the high neck style creates a small waist. It’s easy to move in and great for playing on the beach without showing too much.
This black and white striped two-piece swimsuit is my most worn 2 piece of last summer. The dual print stripes on the high waist bottom nip in the waist and the classic colors go with any style cover-up.

This one shoulder suit from Raisins in a cute cabana stripe with accent bow at the waist. This suit is a bit hard to find this year in a variety of sizes, but there are a few available in this exact suit and lots of similar styles (plus there is a little girl version to do a mommy & me matching beach day.)

This palm leaf kimono makes the perfect cover up. At under $20 it’s the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe since it is such a multitasker. It can be a swim cover up, adds interest to a basic denim cutoffs and white tank outfit, or dresses up a basic black dress to make it a vacation worthy dinner outfit.
This next cover up is perfect for any other fair skinned girls. After a long day in the sun sometimes it’s nice to fully cover your arms and shoulders to give them a break from the sun.
And that wraps up this Try-On Tuesday. I hope this helps you Mama’s plan your next beach vacay swimwear or inspires you to purchase a style you might not have tried before. You are beautiful and can wear whatever style swimsuit you want, now get out there and enjoy your summer without the self-doubt!
