Bright Red Christmas Bedroom Decorations using garland, mini trees, and lots of sparkly red ornaments.
This is the first year I’ve gone all out and decorated our upstairs for Christmas too. So join me for our Master Bedroom Red Christmas Decor Tour.
I decided to change our living room Christmas tree color scheme since all of the red decorations I had didn’t quite go with our blue walls. So I moved them right up to our bedroom to make it more festive for the holidays.

The vibe in here is a bit more relaxed with farmhouse elements versus the downstairs which is much more muted and elegant.
I started by weaving these two garlands together for the top of the headboard. The traditional pine mixed with this trendier flocked eucalyptus garland creates so much depth and interest above the bed.
Then I used our red sparkly ball ornaments to add a pop of color.
This G ornament that I purchased the first year we got married hangs in the center of the garland for a fun interesting focal point.
Next came these black and white buffalo check pillow covers. They have been so versatile. I’ve used them in our Halloween decor with a pumpkin pillow, now in our Christmas decor with a fun vintage style red truck pillow cover, and plan to use them again in the living room for spring paired with my blush pink throw pillows.
I like to get pillow covers for each season since they are so much easier to store when not in use than a full-size throw pillow and you can just keep your same insert in its place but change its look throughout the seasons.
This amazing plaid throw blanket I stole borrowed from my parent’s house since it perfectly went with this color scheme (and they weren’t using it anyway.) I love the pop of red and rusticness it adds to this farmhouse-ish Christmas bedroom decor.
On each of our nightstands, I added some mini trees with a touch of red. The 2 mini tress on my vanity I overloaded with more sparkly red ball ornaments.
On my hubby’s side I used these DIY paper cone trees since they are a much smaller scale and won’t interfere much with the functionality of his nightstand, because well Men need function! These are great because you can make them using any color scrapbook paper to match your decor.
My last piece of decor was this super simple DIY sign I hung above the bed.
I’m trying to be better about hanging things on our walls lately. I was previously holding off on hanging anything until we started painting and renovating the house to make it what we want, but I’ve been starting to put some items up to make it feel homier until we get to that point. Before that, I just hung things on existing nails from the previous owners. (Not what you’d expect from an Interior Designer I’m sure.)
It’s been so nice to see lots of festive red when I walk into the bedroom at night. And this bright fun Christmas decor can’t help but make you feel cheery!
